Teams of former Stourbridge and Halesowen stars met in a 2-2 draw at Amblecote in aid of Parkinson's UK.

The match took place in memory of legendary Black Country comedian Tommy Mundon, born and bred in Halesowen, and Dinky Pountney, late father of Stourbridge Chairman Andy Pountney, both of whom suffered for many years with Parkinson's Disease before passing away last year.

Andy Pountney, manager Gary Hackett and former Stourbridge striker Chic Bates are pictured above presenting a cheque on behalf of the club to Doreen Collins, Chairwoman of the Parkinson's UK Dudley & District Branch.

An entertaining match saw the sides share four goals with Les Palmer, from the penalty spot, and Sam Rock on target for the Glassboys.

Our thanks go to all those who came along to support the two teams and help raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.

The Parkinson's Society have since been working on a national initiative to help raise awareness on new ways to help those suffering from Parkinson’s Disease as it was felt that there wasn't a strong guide out there. Please see the following link -
