Stourbridge were held to a 2 - 2 draw by Causeway United at the War Memorial Athletic Ground on Tuesday night, despite twice leading in the match.

Midland Alliance side CAUSEWAY UNITED stepped into the breach after Mansfield Town disappointingly pulled off of our scheduled pre-season friendly on Tuesday morning and Carl Burley's side certainly gave a good account of themselves ahead of their first league match this Saturday away at Loughborough University.

Stourbridge suffered the 24th minute loss of Jamie Oliver through injury, but his replacement, Craig Slater headed the Glassboys in-front ten minutes later when he headed home from close range following a right-wing cross from Ben Billingham. Causeway, however, were back on level terms just before half-time when Lewis Solly missed his attempted kick and Craig Gregg had the simple task of tucking into an unguarded net.

There were chances at either end in the second period with Tom Turner, in particular, showing up well in the Causeway goal with a string of fine saves, however he was beaten in the 58th minute when Linden Dovey hooked the ball home. Causeway restored parity though on 73 minutes with Scott Devlin producing a fine finish past Solly from the edge of the box.
