Stourbridge bowed out of this season’s F A Trophy competition as their high-flying Skrill North opponents ultimately proved too strong for the Glassboys,

however in a reversal of fortunes from the first game, it was the Glassboys turn to curse their misfortune after a strong opening spell saw them have two efforts cleared off the line and they also hit the crossbar before the East Yorkshire hosts opened the scoring against the run of play.

Stourbridge showed three changes with George Washbourne, Nathan Bennett and Andre Francis replacing the unavailable Jamie Oliver, Aaron Drake and Drew Canavan, but they took the game to their opponents early on. In the 9th minute Sean Geddes delivered in a left-wing flag-kick towards the near post area where Will Richards sent a header off-target. Two minutes later from another corner Luke Benbow saw his header cleared off the line and five minutes later Richards was similarly denied after stooping to direct a back-header goal-wards from yet another Geddes corner. North Ferriby responded with Paul Robson supplying a right-wing cross that Nathan Jarman controlled on his chest before sending an overhead-kick wide of Dean Coleman’s left-hand upright. Stourbridge then went close again on 24 minutes when an attempted home clearance rebounded into the path of Ryan Rowe and his angled shot was parried by Adam Nicklin diving away to his right with Benbow hooking the loose ball against the crossbar. The Glassboys paid the price for not finding the net soon afterwards as North Ferriby forged in-front on 26 minutes. Danny Clarke turned past Francis down the left and his low cross found Jarman and although his shot was blocked, the ball broke to Liam King and he drove home a low shot from the edge of the area. Five minutes later the home side doubled their advantage. A free-kick was tapped short to Jamie Yates and he delivered in a deep cross from the left towards the back-post where Danny Hone got in a downward header that bounced off Leon Broadhurst and over the line for an own goal. Almost immediately the visitors had a chance at the other end as Benbow collected the ball in the left channel area, however his chip dropped over the bar. Two minutes before the break Geddes tried to catch out Nicklin with a low free-kick in from the left towards the near post and although the home keeper failed to hold the ball, he did enough to push it out for a corner. The visitors hopes of a fight-back however were effectively ended in first-half stoppage time as Jarman clipped a ball towards the far post for Ryan Kendall to place a first-time volley past Coleman into the far corner of the net to make it 3-0.

North Ferriby pressed after the re-start and on 47 minutes Kendall hit a first-time shot over the bar from Clarke’s low right-wing cross. Eight minutes later Clarke combined with Robson down the right and from Robson’s ball in, King turned the ball on to the roof of the net. Stourbridge kept going and in the 61st minute Washbourne provided a good cross from the right, but Ben Billingham stabbed the ball wide at the far post. The hosts wrapped up victory though in the 69th minute when a goal-kick from Nicklin reached Jarman and he played Kendall through on goal with Kendall going on to slot the ball low past Coleman for his second goal of the night. Jarman could have made it five, however his downward header bounced wide of Coleman’s left-hand upright from Clarke’s right-wing cross, while the Glassboys were denied a consolation goal eight minutes from time as a 25-yard chip by Rowe beat Nicklin, but hit the crossbar.
