Despite having the majority of the possession and territory, the Glassboys failed to test the home goalkeeper enough.
If Stourbridge thought they were in for an easy time against opponents three levels lower in the pyramid, that notion lasted no longer than the opening four minutes. A long clearance from Blaby & Whetstone's keeper was not dealt with by the visiting defence and Aaron Preston was quickest to react to fire a low shot beyond Dean Coleman from 20 yards.
Stourbridge responded positively, with Kayelden Brown having a low shot saved, and Louis Harris seeing his corner clutched under the crossbar at the second attempt, whilst another Harris corner saw Will Richards head into the net only to see the goal disallowed for a push.
In between times, Coleman was forced into another tricky low save on the dry bumpy surface as Blaby sought to capitalise on some hesitant defending.
Stourbridge's equaliser on 32 minutes came from yet another Harris corner, the ball this time eluding a host of players from either side and sailing into the far corner without a touch from anybody.
The Glassboys went on to force the pace for the remainder of the half but too often the final ball was lacking, and that pattern continued throughout the second period with a combination of over-elaboration, poor final passes and resolute defending limiting clear-cut chances to a minimum.
The home side threatened only sporadically, but could have won the game late on when Brown got back well to divert a low cross away from danger.
