With a number of players absent, Gary Hackett gave starts to new signings Jack Duggan in central defence and Jake Heath in midfield, whilst there were also places for trialists Lewis Probert and Brad Birch, and a welcome return to the red and white stripes for striker Kayelden Brown, on the comeback trail after injury. Meanwhile, former Youth Teamers Brandon Hague, Jacob Wedderburn and Tom Hayward were on the bench along with another trialist, Callum Parker.

Leamington fielded what looked like a fairly strong squad for the game, including former Stourbridge striker Ryan Rowe.

The home side opened the scoring on 26 minutes thanks to a low driven shot from Joe Magunda, which seemed to take a slight deflection on route to beating Matt Gould low down inside his right-hand post.

However, Stourbridge were level within 60 seconds as a typically surging run from Chris Lait saw him take on his man before firing in from just outside the penalty area.

And the Glassboys were ahead just after the half hour, as Heath marked his first appearance with a shot from the edge of the box that took a deflection on its way in.

Kicking up the slope after the break, Stourbridge had to withstand some pressure from the home side, but extended their lead through Lait again just before the hour as he slotted home after another shot from Heath had been blocked, and then Birch rounded off the scoring a minute from time as he ran untracked onto a through ball before rounding the keeper and tapping in.
