Four second-half goals saw a mixed Stourbridge side run out comfortable victors in the end away to Tividale.

The home side included a number of players with Stourbridge connections including Lewis McPike, Shane Grainger, Darragh Bustin and Craig Tibbetts.

The Glassboys handed a starting opportunity to young Tom Hayward in goal, with a back four of Joe Hull, Dan Scarr, teenager Jacob Wedderburn and Lewis Probert. Jake Heath lined up in midfield with Liam Williams, with Drew Canavan playing in a more advanced role, with Liam Molesworth and Kayelden Brown operating out wide and Luke Benbow in attack.

After a quiet start, Luke Benbow forced the first save of the night on 23 minutes with his low free-kick being saved by the keeper down to his left for a corner. Shortly afterwards another Benbow drive from 25 yards was safely held by the keeper and then on 28 minutes Probert pushed the ball through the left channel for Benbow, who was played onside by Bustin on the far side, however he clipped his shot off-target. Six minutes before the break Probert got forward to hit a low angled drive that the keeper was equal to.

Stourbridge made four changes at the break. Richard Kennedy took over in goal, while 18-year old Wordsley-born former Blues academy player Jordan Potter and Stour youth teamers Dan Doyle and Jake Brigdale replaced Hull, Benbow and Brown.

Five minutes after the re-start the Glassboys forged in-front thanks to an unfortunate own goal by Grainger, with an attempted clearance ricocheting off him past his own keeper. As Stourbridge pressed again moments later, Molesworth lifted a shot over and then on 55 minutes Brigdale touched the ball back for Molesworth to hit a rising shot that was saved by the Tivi stopper.

Three goals in the last twenty minutes as the home side tired saw Stourbridge safely secure the win. A typical Drew Canavan free-kick from just outside the box beyond the keeper doubled the lead in the 70th minute. Heath then fired over after being set up by Canavan, before Canavan slipped a ball through the middle on 78 minutes for Brigdale to fasten on to and although his low shot was blocked by the keeper, the ball bounced up for Brigdale to head into the empty net. The scoring was rounded off after 83 minutes as Potter confidently despatched away a low spot-kick.
