Despite being substituted at half time after pulling up sharply with the last kick of the first half, Benbow had already done enough to ensure that the three points were safely wrapped up with 45 minutes still to play.
Benbow now has eight goals from the last two-and-a-half matches.
In truth it was a strong all-round performance by the Glassboys, with Benbow the man to add the finishing touches.
The scoring began as early as the third minute, with a strong run into the box by loanee Reece Hales leading to Ben Billingham having a shot blocked and Louis Harris's follow-up being cleared off the line. However, Harris chased down the rebound and when his cross came in Benbow acrobatically volleyed the ball home from six yards.
It was 2-0 on 12 minutes, as Billingham's right-wing corner was met by Benbow at the far post to plant a free header into the bottom corner.
The hat-trick goal came with just 21 minutes played as Benbow shrugged off the attentions of a Belper defender, with the referee playing a good advantage, to squeeze in a low shot from a narrow angle.
And with the interval beckoning, Billingham won the ball in the tackle on half-way to release Hales down the left channel and his low, hard first-time cross was met on the run by Benbow who fired into the corner, giving James Martin in the Belper goal no chance.
With Benbow replaced by Brian Smikle at the break, and the replacement of Kristian Ramsey-Dickson by new signing Peter Till necessitating a defensive reshuffle, it was no surprise that the second period was less frenetic. Hales came close with a driven shot that the Belper keeper turned wide off the post, and the visitors best chance saw a near-post snap shot from Colin Marrison clear the cross-bar, but the outcome was never in any doubt by that stage.
