There were three changes from the Stourbridge team that faced the same opposition at Amblecote on Tuesday night. Josh Quaynor, Josh Morgan-Parker and Kayelden Brown were recalled to the starting eleven in place of Jordan Fitzpatrick, Reece Hales and Chris Knight, who had been unable to shake off the knock he sustained in that match.
Once again, as on Tuesday, Stourbridge were ahead in the opening stages of the game. Just nine minutes had elapsed when a good passing move by the Glassboys left Brown with a simple tap-in to open the scoring.
In a first half of few clear-cut chances, Drew Canavan had an opportunity from a free-kick on the edge of the box on 40 minutes, but put his effort just wide of the post, before the home side were reduced to ten men 60 seconds later as central defender Alex Frost was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Chris Lait.
Ramsbottom made a double change at the break in an attempt to shake things up, but it was Morgan-Parker who came closest in the early minutes of the half, forcing a save from Grant Shenton in the home goal on 53 minutes.
Dean Coleman was forced into action in the 75th minute to tip over a long-range shot, as Ramsbottom pushed forward in search of that elusive equaliser, and the Stourbridge keeper was forced into two more late saves in the dying minutes to preserve a clean sheet and the win, the first of both since the 1-0 win at home to Matlock Town at the end of January.
The win takes Stourbridge over the 50-point mark and moves them up to 12th place in the Premier Division table.
