A welcome return to their home base saw the Glassboys slam seven past Weymouth without reply.

Stourbridge made a bright start and they were rewarded with the opening goal of the afternoon on 12 minutes. Ben Billingham split the visitors defence with his pass that played Ryan Rowe in through the right channel area and he dinked the ball past the advancing Jason Matthews as he went to ground into the far corner of the net. Seven minutes later Weymouth responded with Ben Joyce turning smartly in the left-hand corner of the box, but he hit his low shot straight at Dean Coleman and the Glassboys hit back with Rowe laying the ball off to Billingham and he hung up his cross towards Drew Canavan, but he sent his header over the bar, however with 21 minutes gone Stourbridge doubled their advantage. Luke Benbow was found in space and he burst into the left-hand side of the area before slipping his shot under Matthews’ body as he was closed down by Michael Walker. Three minutes later Kyle Haynes produced a strong run down the right and he then delivered a cross towards the near post, but Rowe turned his effort wide. The Dorset visitors replied with a dangerous low centre from the right by Luke Burbidge being hurriedly cleared by Haynes at the far post ahead of a Weymouth attacker and then on 35 minutes Joyce hit a 20-yard left-foot shot wide of Coleman’s right-hand upright, however soon afterwards Weymouth were undone by a Coleman goal-kick that bounced over the head of Nathan Walker to let in Benbow and he got the better of Ashley Wells before neatly clipped the ball over Matthews to finish with aplomb and then in the 39th minute Haynes played the ball down the right-flank to Billingham and he escaped the clutches of Barry McConnell and then touched the ball inside past Michael Walker before tucking away a low angled left-foot drive past Matthews. On the stroke of half-time Haynes almost made it five as his low shot from just outside the right-hand corner of the area ran narrowly wide of the far post.

After a half-time talking to, Weymouth began the second period positively and almost pulled a goal back on 47 minutes with Stewart Yetton laying the ball back to Dave Allen who curled a 20-yard shot that clipped the top of the crossbar. Ten minutes later however Benbow completed his hat-trick after Rowe had been stopped on the edge of the box with a shot from 20 yards that Matthews got a hand to as he dived away to his left, but he couldn’t keep the ball from finding the net. At the other end sub Sam Poole headed over from a Joyce free-kick as the hosts began to ring the changes. In the 78th minute a low cross from the right-hand by-line from Haynes was only half cleared to Roly Agbor and although he was unable to get a shot away, he found Sean Geddes who blazed his drive over the bar. Four minutes from time Chris Knight marked his return to the Glassboys fold with the 6th goal of the afternoon as Haynes again drove purposely forward through the right channel area and he drilled in a low cross-shot that Knight stretched to fire in at the far post. In the 89th minute Billingham played a right-wing corner short to George Washbourne who curled an 18-yard shot past Matthews’ right-hand upright, but Washbourne made no mistake in the first minute of stoppage time as he was released clear to advance into the left-hand side of the box and bury a low shot past Matthews to complete a resounding victory for the home side.
