Dreams of National League football died for the Glassboys as Spennymoor triumphed 1-0 in the Play-Off Final.

Rob Ramshaw netted the only goal of the game on 29 minutes to seal promotion for the Moors in their first season at Step 3.

The home side dominated the first half and were well worth their interval lead as the Glassboys rarely threatened, whilst Matt Gould more than once had to be at his best to deny the home side.

Stour came into the match more after the break, without creating enough serious chances until stoppage time, when Dan Lowson produced a fine save from Luke Benbow's free kick and then denied Kennedy Digie moments later.

Our congratulations to Spennymoor on their promotion, and we wish them success in the National League next season.

Stour, meanwhile, must regroup and prepare for another promotion challenge in 2017/18.

Highlights from the play-off final between Spennymoor Town and Stourbridge are now on-line.
