We can confirm the departure of last season's top scorer Luke Benbow, who has signed for National League Solihull Moors.

He joins other former Glassboys Chris Lait, who signed for the Damson Parkway club earlier this week, and Kristian Green at Solihull.

Luke netted 39 times in total last season, and his tally of 32 in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division made him the Division's top scorer. He also scored five goals in the Glassboys' FA Cup run, including two in the First Round replay win at home to Whitehawk.

Luke had returned to the club after spending a season at Rushall Olympic, prior to which he had spent three seasons at the War Memorial Ground in which he scored 56 goals as Stour reached the Southern League Premier Division play-offs twice.

However, he endured a difficult 2014/15 campaign through injury and then poor form in a struggling team, and opted for a change of scenery at Dales Lane in the summer of 2015.

A fully-fit Luke returned to Amblecote last summer and spearheaded another promotion challenge with a number of crucial - and often spectacular - goals, several from free kicks.

Hi impact led to him collecting four awards at the end of season Presentation - Supporters' Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, Manager's Player of the Year, and the Man of the Match Trophy.

In total Luke scored 95 goals for Stourbridge from 181 appearances - 160 starts and 21 as a substitute.

All at the club would like to wish Luke well at Solihull, and we thank him for his contribution to our cause!
