The Glassboys slipped to a third successive defeat as Reuben Jerome's second half strike settled an often tetchy game.

Jerome thumped a shot past Matt Gould and into the roof of the net seventeen minutes from time to break the deadlock and deliver another set-back to Stour's play-off hopes.

After a first half hour in which both sides had shown good attacking intent, with chances at either end, the game had deteriorated into something of a scrappy battle as the second period wore on. The best chances prior to the goal came, one for each side, within sixty seconds just before the hour mark as first the unmarked Billy Smart headed over for Warrington from Sean Williams' free kick, and then Keyelden Brown looped a header against the far post and into the grateful arms of Anthony McMillan from Luke Benbow's cross.

Stourbridge drop to fifth in the Premier Division table, below Nantwich Town on goals scored, with the teams level on goal difference..

A full report will appear shortly.
