Stourbridge made the perfect start to this First Qualifying Round tie as Sarah Lojko lifted a 3rd minute shot over the Leek keeper and into the far corner to settle any big match nerves. However, the home side bounced back from that early blow to exert some pressure on the Glassgirls' defence, and for a while the game was even.
But Stourbridge began to take control as the half hour approached, and Georgia Harris eventually doubled the lead on 26 minutes, firing into the roof of the net from just outside the penalty area. Shannon Hayes missed a chance to add a third after 35 minutes when Emily Drewett was toppled in the box, but she lifted her penalty over the crossbar. Harris, however, did make it 3-0 four minutes from the break, heading home from Shannon Hayes' left-wing corner.
Leek had the advantage of the stiffish breeze after the break, but still it was the Glassgirls who made all the running. Erin Hicken drilled a low shot in from 15 yards to make it 4-0 after 62 minutes, and only four more minutes had elapsed when Harris completed her hat-trick from close range after jinking past a couple of defenders.
Leek grabbed a consolation after 77 minutes when some static defending allowed the unmarked Laura Emery to head home from a corner, but Hicken, who along with Harris was outstanding all afternoon, had the final word as her long-range effort somehow squirmed past the Leek keeper four minutes from time.
